Day 3: Plant-Based Pressure

There are times when living a plant-based lifestyle tests your willpower. Today was certainly one of those days. Because it is only day 3 for me, I was expecting this to happen, however, and so I came to the fight with my boxing gloves on!

Once again, I woke up a little later than I had planned. I really need to get on top of this whole "getting up in the morning" thing, but it's just so snuggly and warm in bed! In my defense, the beautiful cuddles, hugs and kisses from my boys that kept me there were worth lying around longer any morning!
Day 3 was very uneventful. Oranges, bananas, nuts, avocado, salad...woohoo! I will also work towards stepping up my creativity game from here on out when it comes to meals. After urging the boys for over an hour to stop using mommy's bed as a parkour mat, I finally managed to get the bed made and did my workout, only to find that it was lunchtime when I finished! My workout today was HARD! My whole body begged me not to carry on but, along with my eldest son doing his workout (he does sit ups and pushups to be super strong haha), I pushed through.

Today I felt overwhelmed again. I am behind in my work, still stressing about how to get our new rig, and felt exhausted even though I slept really well last night. I don't think I've been eating enough due to the fact that I haven't been putting a lot of effort in to create new things to try. The thing I like about having "unperfect" days is that it gives you a chance to really work on improving and having better days. Solving problems may seem daunting at the time, but they are always very rewarding to look back on and relish in your discoveries and achievements.
We spent some of the afternoon outside playing in the yard. Today was a beautiful, sunny day, ten degrees Celsius, and all of the flowers and insects have been out for a couple weeks now. Then we came in and played on the mattresses some more.

So, why did I struggled today? Well, my family had chicken nuggets and french-fries for dinner. While I was standing at the kitchen counter chopping the veggies for my salad and drizzling raspberry vinegar and honey over it, I had to scold myself the whole time!
"Monique, don't touch the chicken!"
"Don't even think about it!"
"Remember why you are doing this!"
"You're stronger than that!"
It was crazy! I felt like a child caught with their hand in the cookie jar! Caving wasn't an option, and I am really proud of myself for not doing so.

Sometimes in our lives, we forget that the blogs and books we read, or the people we see in articles are just regular people. For this reason, chronicling this journey to health is SO important to me! Not only do you get to know me through these blogs, and I get to know you through your comments, but it also creates a connection to others who are going through the same things, or embarking on similar journeys. Please leave comments below! I'd love to meet and speak with you all!
Once again, thank you all for reading and I hope you join me tomorrow! Good night!
